Magpie was a response to the DIY Filmmakers Sheffield challenge to create a one-shot film. I used a combination of radio mics, a boom mic, a pair of omnidirectional microphones attached to my headphones (see picture below), and hidden omnidirectional microphones in the car to get coverage across each of the speaking roles as well as nice wider ambient perspectives for Frankie to use in the mix.

Staying out of frame as DoP Edward Armstrong followed Terri's loosely-scripted journey down the street took some particularly nimble choreography, especially in the section from 1:07 to 1:19...!
